A Life Shaped by Two Worlds

Dami was born and raised in Mahajanga, a coastal city in northwestern Madagascar along the Indian Ocean. Growing up surrounded by pristine beaches, white sands, and ancient baobab trees, she was immersed in the wonders of nature from an early age. Madagascar, known for its unique biodiversity, became the first source of inspiration for her artistic expression. The lemurs, exotic flora, and untouched wilderness left a lasting impression, influencing her vision and artistic themes.

In 1977, Dami moved to Zimbabwe, then known as Rhodesia, where she found herself drawn to an entirely different yet equally mesmerizing environment. The vast safari landscapes, roaming wildlife, and the rich cultural heritage of Zimbabwe deepened her appreciation for nature’s grandeur. The connection she felt with the people, the land, and its untamed beauty created a sense of belonging, making Zimbabwe her second home.
